Fire and Ice

I did a special event today for a school in Englewood. wikipedia says that the town was 43% white in 2000 but not anymore. It's predominantly a lower - middle income Hispanic population now.

The kids in this school. You can just tell by looking in there eyes that they’re different. I mean different than the kids in Wyckoff, Saddle River or Ramsey. The kids born with a silver spoon, getting every toy and newest video game.

You can tell how much more these kids appreciated it then the ones raised in money and high tech elementary/private schools. They loved the event so much. You can see it in their eyes, the joy-wonder-pleasure. I was packing up and they were asking all these science questions and one kid was like. "Can i have your autograph!"

i was stunned but it was great to see he was curious and interested.

I did an event for a private catholic school and the kids were the worst ever. Disruptive, rude loud, obnoxious blah blah blah! They didnt understand.

It was a tiresome but fullfilling day.

Work was good. It went real quick. I booked like 4000 dollars in programs today. Thats great news. Our summer kamps are really taking off. we had like 7 people register today. and 1 class is already set to go! Im excited their working out. But it makes me wonder why its taking off? This year we set up online registration so i think its easier for people to sign up and our website looks great toO! Keep it coming!

Old is New Again

Work was ok today. I was working on our website for most of the day.

Uniforms in Public Schools was one topic discussed. I say yes to uniforms!

Comedy Club was weird. it was like a fine dinning resturant with a dance floor, so they jsut made the dance floor the stage for the comic. The opener was terrible. The second guy was real good. Drinks were expensive. it was a good time.

totally couldnt get out of bed today. its hard going out during the week.

work was so blah today. Had to put together a 450 piece mailer. it was so mind-numbing.

I have paper cuts on all my fingers.

Insure Your Insurance

wtf is going on here.

Right now i lease a car and the car is in my dads name. Insurance is real high. I qualify for a good/cheap insurance company called NJ manufacturer's insurance cuz i was recommended. I was planning on switching my insurance once we bought the PT Cruiser in May.

BUT

I got a speeding ticket last week. 65 in a 50 on rt 17. Never been in an accident and it's my first moving violation in 8 years. i have to plead not guilty and have to go to court in hopes to get the points reduced so i dont have to pay as much for insurance. Ill pay whatever the fine is in court to have no points on my licence.

AND

Jenn got into a car accident today. Shes OK, some stupid lady opened her door to wide on a really narrow street and she clipper the car door.

The fault was on the moron who opened the door but the insurance company doesnt care who's at fault. Now i have to call this lady and find out if she is gonna go through insurance. ( i hope not)

So in one week, we went from 1200 for insurance on both cars --to-- something else entirely. Sofar these past two weeks have been shit.

Had basketball last night.

it was good. i'm getting better--- I think?

I have a hard time figuring out whether to drive to the basket or pass it off to someone else.

Im a reserved player becuase there are alot of much better players than I.

Some guy jumped on my big toe like 5 times and now my toe is all bruised. <>

I had a dream last night that i was being chased and i woke myself up and twisted my neck and now my neck hurts. Damn im falling apart.

I heard we supposed to have snow tomorrow. I hope we get a snow day. I dont want to go to work.

The Day that God Rests

Woke up early today. I need to do literally 5 loads of laundry.
Laundry = no big deal.

but then i have to :
1. Scrub the kitchen floor and counters.
2. Clean chinchilla cage and 2nd bedroom.
3. Clean up the living room.
4. Vacuum all the rugs.
5. Put all loose crap away.
6. Dust bookshelves and tabletops.
7. Fold all 5 loads of laundry and put away.
8. Relax and watch "Millions" or "The Hudsucker Proxy".

Geeze, well im glad i got up early!

Weekend in Check

Friday was fun. I wasnt really looking forward to spending my friday with jenns co-workers but it turned out to be a good time.

There was alot going on. Music was good and people were nice.

I think that in order to be a school teacher for any subject or grade range you have to (are) left of center. Slightly werid, strange, odd. Their eccentricities are all different but something linked them all together. They all had some common thread. (Outside of the job of being a teacher)

I cant put my finger on it.


Got up Saturday morn to go tm our friends christening. It was a really nice ceremony. Short, to the point and comforting.

Watched a great movie today. -----> JUNEBUG <-----
It was an amazing movie.

Now i'm chillin
